Kiswe & Qamira join forces to provide interactive video experiences for sports arenas

Murray Hill, New Jersey – Kiswe , a live mobile media content provider for sports and entertainment, has announced the successful completion of the acquisition of Qamira, the Belgian Virtual Camera Technology provider. Qamira offers realtime panoramic video streams for the sports and events industry. Through this acquisition, Kiswe positions itself as a one-stop shop for interactive mobile video acquisition, distribution and analytics.

The integration of Kiswe and Qamira is a natural fit on many levels. Separately, both companies share similar visions for live content distribution, complimentary technologies, customer value propositions, and market focus. Kiswe Mobile seeks to enhance its interactive mobile app with the continuous delivery of live video streams from Qamira’s virtual panoramic camera system. Qamira will leverage Kiswe’s high-performance distribution network to deliver high resolution, wide-area panoramic video feeds to event spectators at scale.

“From our first meeting, the combined customer value of both technologies was undeniable,” according to Jorre Belpaire, CEO of Qamira. “We saw a strong cultural fit between both teams, and an incredible level of customer value to be gained. We share a vision and strategy for presenting interactive video, while each holding a different piece to the puzzle. Kiswe Mobile now offers end-to-end solutions, from mobile screen multi-camera streaming to performance analysis tools for sports teams,” Wim Sweldens, CEO of Kiswe, explains. “With the power of the panoramic Qamira camera combined with our free-to-download Trekker App, we are creating a new way of producing and distributing interactive video for our customers.”

Kiswe is a start-up focused on bringing live media content such as sports and entertainment to mobile devices. Jeong Kim, Wim Sweldens, and Jimmy Lynn founded Kiswe in the fall of 2013. They are each well known in their respective fields and bring their combined expertise in mobile communications technology, entrepreneurship, and sports management to the company.
